On the other hand, Argentina thrashed South Africa 1-0 and Australia thrashed France 8-0 at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar.
Amit Rohidas and Hardik Singh scored goals for India. Amit was adjudged player of the match. After the victory, Rohidas said- ‘This is an unforgettable moment of my life. Where I grew up playing hockey, scored my first goal in the World Cup at the same place. Can’t describe it in words. All the family members had come to watch the match. Amit said- ‘Just keep supporting India, we will definitely win.’
At the same time, after the victory, Indian captain Harmanpreet agreed- ‘Our defense line should be stronger. We made too many mistakes against Spain. We need to learn. 1st quarter: Amit Rohidas gives a 1-0 lead

Second quarter: Hardik’s goal doubles the lead, and Spain misses the penalty
Before half-time, the Spanish team made a lot of efforts to equalize, but the Indian defenders failed them. He got a chance to equalize in the form of a penalty corner in the 24th minute, but the visiting team could not capitalize on it. Soon after, in the 26th minute, Hardik Singh scored a brilliant field goal to increase India’s lead to 2-0. Akashdeep got a green card just before halftime.

Third quarter: India missed 3 goals, captain missed a penalty
After half time both the teams continued to attack. India got a penalty stroke in the second quarter of the third quarter and in the 32nd minute of the match, but Indian captain Harmanpreet could not capitalize on the opportunity. Spanish goalkeeper Rafi Adrian made a brilliant save. Rain Mark got a yellow card in the very next minute. India also got two penalty corners in the 37th and 43rd minutes, but the goal was not scored. The score line remained 2-0 after three quarters.
