25-year-old cricketer Rishabh Pant met with an accident near Roorkee at 5.30 am on Friday. His condition was said to be stable now. He was going to his home in Uttarakhand by car. At the turn of Hammadpur Jhal at Roorkee’s Narcan border, his Mercedes lost control and hit a guardrail, after which the car caught fire and overturned.
According to Uttarakhand DG Ashok Kumar, Pant had dozed off while driving, due to which he lost control of the car. Pant was alone in the car at the time of the accident. After the accident, Pant came out of the burning car by breaking the window. Pant has suffered injuries on his head, back and legs. According to doctors, Rishabh’s condition is stable.

Pant was taken to Roorkee’s Saksham Hospital for first aid after the accident. Dr. Sushil Nagar, chairman of Saksham Hospital, told that he has suffered many injuries. After MRI, his knee operation will be required.
He told me during the treatment that he was going to surprise his mother. He said that he was not wearing a seatbelt. So they came out safely. Had he been wearing a seat belt, he could have suffered burns after the car caught fire.
