The journey of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) ended with defeat by 27 runs. This match was played at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Chasing the target, Chennai Super Kings could score only 191 runs at the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. Rachin Ravindra played an inning of 60 runs. Ravindra Jadeja remained unbeaten after scoring 42 runs. Dhoni played an inning of 25 runs in 13 balls.

RCB, who came to bat first, got a great start with captain Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli (47) making a partnership of 78 runs. Santner broke this partnership by getting Kohli caught by Darryl Mitchell at long on.
After this, Rajat Patidar came to support the captain. Both of them added 35 runs for the second wicket and took the team beyond 100 runs. Du Plessis was run out in an awkward manner.
Patidar-Green’s half-century partnership
After this, Rajat Patidar (41) and Cameron Green (38*) made a half-century partnership and took the team to a great position. Both made a partnership of 71 runs for the third wicket. Thakur broke this partnership by getting Patidar caught out by Darryl Mitchell. After this, Dinesh Karthik (14) and Glenn Maxwell (16) played very useful innings and took the team beyond 200 runs.
Cameron Green scored unbeaten 38 runs in 17 balls with the help of three fours and three sixes. Shardul Thakur got the maximum two wickets from CSK. Tushar Deshpande and Mitchell Santner took one wicket each.
