Pant first post after surgery: Indian cricket team’s wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant, who was injured in a car accident, has posted his first post on social media after the accident. In his post after the successful knee surgery, he thanked the fans.
25-year-old Pant wrote in the post, ‘Thank you for all your support. I am happy to inform you that my surgery was successful. I am focusing on recovering soon. He also wrote, ‘I am ready for the recovery challenge. Thanks to BCCI, Jai Shah, and the Government of India for support in difficult times.
Will be indebted to Rajat and Nishu
This wicket-keeper batsman did 3 posts one after the other. In his last post, he remembered the youths named Rajat and Nishu who helped him after the accident. Pant wrote- ‘I may not be able to thank everyone personally, but I have to say thank you to these 2 heroes. Who helped me after the accident and took me to the hospital safely. Rajat Kumar and Nishu Kumar, thank you. I will always be grateful and indebted to you.
Pant underwent surgery at Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai.
Pant had a successful knee ligament surgery in early January. He is still under the supervision of doctors. He is being treated at Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai. Pant was operated upon by Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala, Head of Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy at the hospital. This operation lasted for 3 hours.
Can stay away from the field for 18 months
According to media reports, Rishabh Pant will not play this ODI world. Recently, his ligament reconstruction surgery was done in Mumbai. Which was successful. Now after 6 weeks, another surgery is to be done. In such a situation, he can stay away from cricket for at least 18 months.

On the other hand, a BCCI official said that it is very difficult for Pant to be fit for the World Cup. It is too early to say when he will return to the field.
Pant will miss many big tournaments including IPL
Even after successful surgery, Pant will not be a part of many big tournaments including IPL-2023. Although he will get the full salary of IPL. BCCI will give this amount. Pant was retained by Delhi Capitals for Rs 16 crore.

Apart from IPL-2023, Pant has home series against New Zealand in January-February, home series against Australia in March-April, Test Championship in June (if India qualifies for the final), a West Indies tour in July, and Asia in September. Can miss the Cup and ODI World Cup. There is doubt about his playing in the next season of IPL as well. Delhi Capitals can replace Pant with Australian batsman David Warner as their captain.
