India assumed the year-long chairmanship of the G20 in December last year and is now all set to host the leaders’ summit in New Delhi in early September. Pakistan has expressed strong resentment over New Delhi’s decision to hold the G20 Tourism Working Group meeting in Kashmir, calling it a “self-serving move”.
Speaking to the media after landing in Pakistan-Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) on his three-day visit, Foreign Minister Bilawal said, “India has become a world leader in violation of UN resolutions,” Dawn reported. It is not possible to play an important role.
“At a time when India is holding a conference in Kashmir, I have been invited to address the assembly in PoJK,” he said. Bilawal said he was in Bagh district to express solidarity with the Kashmiri people. Will also attend a protest rally. He said, ‘I believe that when a country takes a step like India, its real face comes in front of the world.’
‘G20 tourism meeting most important event in Jammu and Kashmir’
Meanwhile, G20 Chief Coordinator Harsh Vardhan Shringla said on Sunday that the G20 Tourism Working Group meeting here has the largest participation of delegates and it will be the most important event to be held in Jammu and Kashmir. Shringla said in Srinagar that the broad objective of the working group meeting is to present India’s rich and diverse cultural identity and promote the country’s tourism potential to the world.
