In the production pyramid, the GLE sits above the GLC and below the top-line GLS. The updated GLE SUV was revealed to the world in February and is basically a facelifted version. Changes on the latest version include a new bumper at the front, changes to the LED headlights, updated taillights, and a new set of alloy wheels.
The interior of the GLE gets the steering wheel taken from the S-Class. Apart from this, it can also be offered in new color options and trims. It has an upgraded MBUX system, while an optional off-road package is available.
In the global market, GLE is offered with petrol, diesel, and hybrid engine options. 48V Integrated Starter-Generator (ISG) is fast becoming a common feature and the upcoming GLE in India is sure to get it for better mileage and lower tailpipe emissions. However, what will not be available in the India-spec version is definitely the plug-in hybrid version of the GLE.
