With the six hit by Varun Chakraborty, King Kohli has now become the batsman from RCB who has hit the most sixes in the IPL. Kohli now has a record of hitting 240 sixes while playing for RCB. Whereas, Gayle has hit 239 sixes on behalf of this team. In this list, AB de Villiers is at third position with 238 sixes.

Kolkata’s openers decided the fate of the match
RCB might have hoped that just as its batsmen struggled, Kolkata’s batsmen would also do the same but it did not happen. In fact, its openers, Sunil Narine (47 runs, 22 balls) and Phil Salt (30 runs, 20 balls) had decided the fate of the match in the powerplay itself. Both had scored 50 runs in the fourth over and 85 runs till the end of the powerplay.
After this, both were out but Venkatesh Iyer came back and scored 50 runs, ending all hopes of RCB’s comeback. Apart from him, captain Shreyas Iyer (39 runs not out) also lasted till the end and ended the match in the 17th over. Kolkata has its second consecutive win this season, while Bengaluru has its second defeat in 3 matches.
