FTC is investigating
An FTC spokeswoman would not comment Thursday on the opening of the investigation against OpenAI. According to the report published in the American newspaper ‘The Washington Post’, the FTC is investigating whether OpenAI is adopting unfair or deceptive practices of privacy or data security or harming the interests of consumers. Sam Altman, the founder of OpenAI, expressed his disappointment in a tweet when the report of the investigation started. The move will not help in building trust but the company will work closely with the trade commission, he added.
Altman tweeted

Altman said in his tweet that it is important for us that technology is safe and consumer friendly and we are sure that we follow the law. We protect user privacy and build our system for the world to know, not private individuals. Earlier in May, Altman appeared before the US Congress. Apart from this, he has also traveled to European countries and India and advocated the regulation of AI. In fact, voices have been raised continuously about the rapidly increasing use of ChatGPT and some other AI solutions and their potential dangers.
